How It Works for Solar Professionals

The mechanics in more detail than the main page carries — including a straight separation between what is settled and what is not.

Last updated .

HyreSolar generates homeowner enquiries from its own published guides, research and calculators, matches each one against the service area and service types a professional has registered, and routes it only after the homeowner has consented on a dedicated step. The professional owns the resulting relationship outright: they call, design, quote and contract directly, and HyreSolar takes no percentage of the job. Eight terms are already settled and six — pricing, exclusivity, delivery speed, credits, contract length and market order — are still open, and this page separates them rather than blurring the two.

Where the enquiries come from

We do not buy traffic and resell it. HyreSolar publishes a library of guides, original research computed from federal utility filings, and free calculators that show their formula on the page.

Homeowners arrive from search with a problem — a bill that jumped, a system that stopped reporting, a tax credit deadline they half-heard about. They work through it. A minority reach the end of that process, decide they want a professional, and fill in a form.

That is the whole mechanism, and it is why the enquiries are different: the reader has already learned the vocabulary before you speak to them. The lead engine sets out the five stages.

What you receive

A homeowner enquiry carries what they told us, matched against the areas and services you told us you cover.

  • Always: zip code, stated goal, property type, ownership, name, email and phone.
  • Where the homeowner supplied it: monthly bill band, annual kWh, utility, roof age, roof type, shading, available ground space, and their own description of the project.

The middle steps of our form are optional by design. Requiring a homeowner to know their annual kilowatt-hours before they can ask a question would cost more enquiries than the extra field is worth, so some will reach you with less detail than others.

What is already settled

The terms below are commitments HyreSolar has already made to participating professionals, not intentions. They will not change quietly.

CommitmentWhat it means
You choose your service areaZip codes, cities or counties. We match against what you give us and we do not widen it to manufacture volume.
You choose your servicesInstallation, storage, repair, EV charging and the rest. You only see enquiry types you asked for.
The homeowner consents firstConsent is its own step on our form, not a checkbox under a submit button. Nothing is routed without it.
You own the customer relationshipYou call, you design, you quote, you contract directly. HyreSolar is not a party to it.
We take no cut of the jobWhatever the eventual pricing model is, it will be for the introduction, not a percentage of the work.
Payment never buys coverageNot placement in a guide, not a favourable comparison, not the removal of a warning. The editorial side does not take requests from the commercial side.
No ranking, no badgesThere is no HyreSolar score or tier, because we have no documented methodology that would support one.
You can change or pauseService areas and services are yours to adjust. The exact mechanism sits with the terms below.

What is not decided yet

HyreSolar is early. We would rather publish this list than invent terms that change in three months and take your trust with them.

TermWhere it stands
Pricing model and price pointsNot decidedPer enquiry, subscription, or something else — and at what price.
Exclusive or sharedNot decidedWhether an enquiry goes to one professional or several.
Delivery speedNot decidedHow quickly an accepted enquiry reaches you. No commitment has been set.
Invalid enquiriesNot decidedWhat qualifies for a credit, and how a dispute is raised.
Contract termsNot decidedMinimum commitment, if any, and how to pause or leave.
Market availabilityNot decidedWhich states and metros open first, and in what order.

The partner FAQ answers these one by one. When they are settled, the businesses on the list hear before the public page changes.

What we ask in return

We publish guides telling homeowners how to vet a solar company, and how we vet sets out what we check. Routing readers to companies that fail our own advice would make both pages worthless.

  • A registered business with a verifiable operating history.
  • Current licensing wherever your state or locality requires it.
  • General liability cover, and workers' compensation where you employ crews.
  • Prompt response to enquiries you accept.
  • Written, itemised proposals with each warranty stated separately.
  • No doorstep contracting, no same-day-only pricing, and no savings guarantees made before a site assessment.

Common questions

What does registering actually do right now?

It records your business, your service area and the services you want, and puts you on the list for your market. Nothing is charged, nothing is committed, and it is not an agreement to buy anything.

When will enquiries start?

We will not give you a date we cannot keep. Enquiry flow follows where homeowners find our guides and research, which is uneven by market. Registering means you hear before the public page changes.

What does a homeowner enquiry contain?

Zip code, their stated goal, property type and ownership, plus name, email and phone. Where the homeowner supplied them it also carries monthly bill band, annual kWh, utility, roof age, roof type, shading, ground space and their own description. The middle steps are optional for the homeowner, so some enquiries carry less.

Do you verify homeowner enquiries?

We check a request is complete and that the zip and service type are ones we cover. We do not credit-check homeowners or verify their intent beyond what they tell us, and we will not claim otherwise.

Next step

Complete the application, or register your interest in two minutes from the main page. Both are free and neither commits you to anything.

HyreSolar is an independent solar information and homeowner-connection platform. We do not install, finance, maintain or service solar systems.
